It's been a while since I checked in on the over all group, so it's time for the universal "How's Everyone Doing?" thread again.  Everyone's new year go well?  Is the excitement gone?  Did anyone go missing during all the madness?  Do we need to form a search party?  It's time to give your status update and share how things are going.I'll go first:  I have no major complaints.  HISHE had it's biggest break yet so That's always going to be my biggest news for 09. My routine is pretty much the same as it has been other than that.  Been watching lots of movies lately (theater, blueray, & hulu) which has been fun.  Hulu scares me though because you can just watch show after show after show and before you know it, its dinner time.  I'm about to sign up for Netflix too finally so I expect to never leave the house again once that happens.      So looking at the list here it seems I'm developing a major dependency on in home digital media... hmm  looks like it's time to start a different hobby :)  we'll see how that turns out.   NEXT!

I'm seriously thinking 2010 will be one of my best years in a while, Since I disbanded the silly series I wanted to try out I've been able to actually start a comedy group, so every few weeks I'll be filming new sketches for Partially Insane Films. Since I run it, I play almost all the main roles, and so far I've had to to (very fittingly) do some partially insane stuff. If you haven't seen my videos I suggest you watch them at my youtube channel. So fortunatley, I got a Blu-ray player for christmas, and I'm struck with a disease known as "lazy" and watching Flight of the Conchords in my room and eating Hot-pockets. (yuck) However, I am a bit ashamed to be exicited for new Mountain Dew flavors...yes i'm actually awaiting new Mountain dew flavors. In other news, I bought an Avatar shirt from Wal-Mart and have been real proud to wear it. Which means of course, I have no more dignity...and if you think thats bad go check out the "Ozymandiases Plan" video on the PIF channel. Speaking of the PIF channel, I have an original short film that will probably released in October, but nothing official. Just ideas...if I do finish it however I think it should be dedicated to HISHE. (I still haven't seen Avatar)Ok so apparently this is my longest post yet since the switch. Also I can't ask enough, please put a logo indicating new posts by the thread on the forum main page, because I don't like looking at the time and date of post. I DON'T KNOW MATH!So this will be a big year I hope, also forgot to mention I have a contact to Jackie Earle Haley (Rorshach) He lives an hour away from me! NEXT!

Okay, 2009.......I joined this forum. Haha. Yay!Aside from that, I entered my last year of high school finishing up this summer. There's no one in my area who does anything cool like people do all the time on the internet, so nothing in that area.I got some awesome presents for Christmas. Oh, and I may go missing on January 26th as that is when Mass Effect 2 should be arriving from Heaven. I ordered it direct.I've been stuck in a repetitive life style for ages. My only resolution at the end of '09 going into '10 is to do something fun and different for once.I played the first fun strategy game ever. (I don't usually like strategy games, but dang, I can spend 6 hours at a time on Sins of a Solar Empire and I'd never notice. Except when it tells me. XD)2009 has been mostly uneventful for me.NEXT!

2009 was probably the best year of my life. I graduated, went to state, and got accepted into The Ohio State University...Adversly, I have this weird feeling that 2010 is going to be one of the worst years of my life. It hasn't even been a week and I'm already having to deal with a bunch of problems...

Jamesbloke's picture

So far 2010 is going okay.....Christmas 2009 was spent with a nephew hanging off each leg (except when they were unwrapping presents). The whole presents thing really annoys me & despite the whole giving thing being key. Every year I spend shed loads of money and time buying presents I think my friends & family will enjoy, and without exception I get dross back. I know it's childish to get wound up about it, but it's not like I am hard to buy stuff for! Every year (since I was a teenager), unless there is something specific I want, if someone asks me what I want for Christmas I answer with "well, I like books, films, music, cycling & [name of current games console], so anything along those lines would be welcome." Experience would suggest that this list isn't just ignored, but excluded, as I have yet to receive something from it (the PS3 headset below being the one exception). Here's a couple of examples of what I tend to get, maybe you can decide if I'm being harsh.Example 1: Teenaged years. Present received - a random selection of fruit flavoured soaps etc from the Body Shop. It wasn't even a matching or complimentary set! I got out of the bath smelling like a fuit salad. As a teenager trying to be a man it was a disaster - do you know how hard it is to feel masculine when you smell faintly of strawberries? And what was that relative trying to say? "Merry Christmas, Stinky?" Example 2: Last year the conversation with my sister-in-law went - Her: "Oh, I could probably get you something for the playstation. Would you like a headset?" Me: "No thank you, that's one stereotype I don't want to live up to. Besides, I normally mute other players with headsets as they tend to swear a lot, or sit there eating crunchy things & slurping drink without actually saying anything, or hold conversations with someone you can't hear." Guess what I got? To rub salt into the wounds she also got me an Inflatable Wife. Don't confuse "Inflatable Wife" with "Sex Doll." A Sex Doll would have been insensitive and degrading. An Inflatable Wife is just as insensitive, almost as degrading, but also completely useless. Example 3: Present recieved (can't remember which year) - an ill-fitting awful looking tracksuit from the cheapest shop in town. It was so awful, it wasn't even worth taking it back to get one in the right size. I wouldn't have been so upset, but my brother got an air compressor for his airbrush and my father got an expensive Swiss Army Knife from the same relative.I'll stop there before I turn blue, but that list is hardly scratched. I admit, I may have just demonstrated that may a little less persistance and a change of tack is required... Transcending the Arse of Reason in time for last orders

Im still here, not as much as I used too, but here none the less. 09 was good I guess, hopefully I''l see more than a few changes happen in 2010. Since everybody is talking about their stuff I guess I can mention a comic I've had in mind. Maybe I'll actually finish this one, I tend to lose interest in a comic kinda quick, but this one will be short and sweet so maybe I won't have that problem. lol Oh and I can't wait to see the awesomeness hishe has planned for 2010 : )

2009 was an amazing year.  I began construction on my own suborbital geostationary space station, fought and defeated the Morlocks and began lying to myself and everyone else about all the stuff that I have done.In truth, 2009 was a fairly unproductive year for me, but I did get a crap-ton of writing done.  I've been reading alot more (Sony E-Reader is proving to be a worthwhile investment.)I'm hoping 2010 will be a big year.  I'm working on a new website, a book project and concepts for new video projects.   NickelCrew.net

Honestly... 2009's been a rough year for me and my family. Not quite sure If I'm ready to throw it up online but it's been pretty tough... and bad on us. But we're making it through. For 2010 I can only really hope for the best. But things are lookin up. My sister is getting married soon, and things can only go good from here. Don't mind me. We'll be fine. :D

LetsGoBuffs's picture

We're thinking of you, babbz. Hope it gets better from here on out! You deserve it!

I hope everything turns around for you. =] And congrats for your sister. =P

Better late than never... hope you and your family are already noticing a difference in 2010. Hang in there, and come visit the forum more (like I'm one to talk! ;) - I miss reading your posts.

Megaman lied to me, robots were suppose to rule by 200X, so not to happy to see 2010 and no robots.

im really psyched for 2010. i plan on it being a successful year for me. ill be moving into my first year of highschool, hopefully make it into some youth competition were i can put my trumpet to use, start marching band, and end the school year with straight A's. plus ill at least be able to look forward to the beta for SC2. I've finally decided to hang up WoW. It just seemed to get in the way of things and didnt give anything back. the only game i really play in my spare time is WarCraft 3, which is still pretty amazing :). i also plan on picking up some of my dads old audiobooks, and downloading them onto my iPod. some of them are really interesting especially the one called What the Dog Saw by Malcolm Gladwell. getting my Eagle scout is also a priority. after that ill be able to get a decent laptop that will hopefully have a good enough graphics card for Diablo 3.so yep. 2010 will be great for me. oh yeah, lost is finishing up this year, another reason why it'll be so awesome xD

isaac5's picture

why do you hate lost so much? what  is so terrible about it? the cool tone? the total mystery of the island? the character development? the way that they branded there show with a cliffhanger and that eventually got a little old?  the slightly over the top storyline? do you find the comic relief sour? what is it with lost?

This is such a great thread!  I've loved reading about your lives.  Ronin, you always make me laugh.  Babbz, I'll say a prayer for you and your family.  I hope things turn around for you.My 2009 was crazy!  I moved almost 1000 miles away from my home in Dallas.  So far Cincinnati has been fun.  I'm loving winter and snow!  It's a neat little city and I've been surprised by how much I like it.  Of course the deal with Starz and having the opportunity to produce a new short every month is at the top of the list of exciting things for me too.My prediction is that 2010 will be even more amazing.  First, I'll probably get to move back to Dallas, which will be so great for team HISHE and for my personal and family life as well.  My son will turn THREE, which just blows my mind.  My professional goal is to do at least one new movie review a week.  My personal goal is to spend my money and time on things that really matter and either start something or find something that will help me do that. :) Love you guys!

Thanks for doing the roll call, Cap - nice idea. The Year in Review: Well, 2009 was amazing for me in at least one way. I unexpectedly landed a position in the middle of a high profile (at least in this country), public sector ‘thing’ (can’t really describe it without identifying it). My work on it is (also unexpected) a weird nexus of my background and skills. It's been fascinating and challenging, and I’ve learned a ton. Because of the demands of work this year, I didn’t do as much traveling, but managed short trips a little closer to home: Seattle, the San Juan Islands, San Francisco, Yosemite, Santa Fe - and, a bit further, Cape Cod. Got outside a lot, and enjoyed good time with friends and family. There were a couple of big personal changes as well this year, so it’s definitely been a season of transition, and not all easy. One goal I didn’t accomplish this year was to meet more Watsons in person! Looking forward: In 2010, I’m wrapping up my current project in the first half of this year, and there are several options beyond that, so I’m excited about new prospects. The Winter Olympics are coming here in less than a month, so that will be quite a spectacle. I hope to travel a little further afield again, and definitely get some warm water diving in – missed that last year. I want to take a couple of classes and do some writing. Maybe do a triathalon. And, I hope to be around the Forum more with all of you – and maybe see a couple of you in “real life.”   Happy 2010, Watsons!  ;)

I started this year with a very crappy day. new years day. Why am I surprised? It's ALWAYS crappy in the first day of the year. Anyway in 2010 I will become a teenager,  a couple days before will be my second anniversary with HISHE and that's something to be happy about. I will graduate the sixth grade. I'm hoping to get my grades for the year up this semester I also will try to win a nickel crew contest, I don't know who my competition is yet or good they are. I don't know what else will happen in the year. I am excited about my becoming a man well I'll still be a kid I'll just get girlfriends and do nothing my parents tell me to do, not really. But I will get more friends since im going to the church youth group now.

Bliss's picture

The Nickelcrew contests? I think you are out of luck because clearly I am better...If could just get started. You and me both though, this year has started out very crappy.
