Depends on what the filmakers decide. I found a copy of the original script that Neil Blomkamp and Peter Jackson tried to produce but that died http://www.mypdfscripts.com/unproduced/halo. So that team went on to make District 9.Then I hear screenwriter Stuart Beattie (Pirates of the caribbean, Colateral, Derailed, GI:Joe) has written a spec screenplay based on the novel Fall of Reach, prequel to the game.Dreamworks wants to accquire the rights, cause Steven Spielberg is interested in Producing it(not direct).

I hope that this film is good, because there are not a lot of good video game adaptations especially The Super Mario Bros. Movie! Prince of Persia was pretty good.

I seriously doubt that it would turn into a great movie, seeing the transition from movie to game (almost) never worked out. (though I found every spiderman game for the xbox (except for number 3) to be quite good) They have already experimented with video game movies, such as the super mario bros movie, doom and mortal kombat, which I found to be pretty bad. (in my opinion anyways)

Agreed about the usually bad transition... The problem is these movies are usually made by non- or casual gamers top, so they approach them as any other movie, instead of trying to confront the problem of interactivity and work out something that keeps the action of it but doesn't go out to be a soap opera with guns or a 90-120 minute gun battle. (I mean sure, Hitler seemed to like Nation's Pride but that doesn't mean all exlusively battle oriented movies are good.)I guess we'll just wait and see... If Master Chief won't take off his helmet in the trailer, we'll know the movie still has a chance.  Ather lenoro' sharanteh! (Ather's light guide us!)"Food for thought!"

I saw the trailer and the first eight minutes of the alleged film about a month ago. Looks pretty awesome, except for the fact that there is so much camera shake! I found it quite difficult to watch. I understand that they are trying to make it feel as though you're actually there, but still. None the less, I am still looking forward to seeing it someday... that is, if they actually follow through in making it. P.S. I've never actually played the game.
