So is LOST wearing everyone else out as much as it is me?
Can it pull out of the dull slope it seems to be heading down?
Do you think the final answers will ever live up to the anticipation?
What is it about this latest batch of episodes that seems so weak compared to the last two Seasons?

Welcome Isaac!

I think last weeks episode was great although they better explain the black smoke very soon or I'm going to get frustrated. Clearly Ben not only knows what it is but can summon it. I also thought it looked a little ridiculous...LOST has a tendency to hold on to "mystery" so long that I stop caring.

I can't wait for tonight!

On a side note:
I watched every season of Sopranos and didn't think the finale sucked, but I know I'm in the minority. It was just not the closure people wanted...but really there was no way to end that show and after multiple viewings of the finale I think it was kind of perfect. No one had changed and no one was ever going to change.

Wow. It would have required some thought for that theory.

It just seems quite complex to have to explain that in the LOST storyline when they already have their hands full with other unanswered questions, and on top of that, what about the black smoke? Unlikely it was anything engineered or result of time travel.

spy guy what makes you say that i mean eko was just becoming a new person when it killed him and maybe the pilot new something that could totallly effect the out come of the show

how can you say this is not affiliated with http://www.timelooptheory.com/ and we dontneed to know how the time machine works

This episode was amazing. I have a feeling that most of the epsiodes for the remainder of the series will be this good, because they have so much to reveal and explain. LOVE IT!

One thing: Locke's birth mom was named Emily. Ben's mom is ALSO named Emily. Could Locke be Ben's older brother? Wouldn't that be CRAZY? They kept bringing up how different they were from each other all episode, so it wouldn't surprise me at all. Awesome.

Is Claire dead? She sure seemed cool with hanging out with her dead father whom she hates.

And does anyone have a theory about what's up with Richard Alpert? What that test was all about?

Daniel's picture

I loved the episode as well, especially after last weeks "oh no jack has a pendicidous" power down waste of time.

I really liked how quickly they moved the story along telling Loche's past, the stuff happening on the ship, and finding the cabin. I wish the show could be that way all the time.

I have a feeling now that you pointed out Loche's mother's name, that they will make them brothers. That sounds like one of those clues that people figure out way way before hand and then when the big reveal happens nobody cares *cough Claire and Jack*cough So, it has to happen :)

I don't understand what's up with Claire right now either. I doubt she's dead, because that would mess up a lot of previous episodes. I think they are just moving her out of harms way since "the big massacre" is about to happen.

The test thing to me looked like Loche revealed who he was going to be by picking up the knife, which may not have been the role Richard was hoping for. Like Richard knows what things will happen in the future? Loche does always have the knife on his belt.

who knows at this point. all i know is I thought last nights episode was a breath of fresh air to me, full of clues and little easter eggs, like the show is supposed to be :) I liked it.

LetsGoBuffs's picture

Apparently the test that Alpert did is the test used to pick the Dalai Lama. The Dalai Lama is supposed to be a reincarnation of someone, so choosing the item that belonged to them is supposed to show that they used to be that someone.

Awesome!

So, what does that mean? I don't know.

time travel genuis at www.timelooptheory.com this could be explained

buffs think a man claims to be your father buffs you dont really beleive him and are mad at thim if he IS your father cause he has another family and doesnt love your mother so you say you hate him you never see him again. Then your plane crahses on an island when you are pregnant and the father left you you are stolen scared to death by amnesia and fall in love and lose the man you love. no that is pretty life changing then you see your dad on that islandyou are suprised sooooooooooooo much this would be shocking the first step to life changingness you follow him he talks to you and makes you a different person you understand him you understand the island you know more than any one! that is what happened i think

LetsGoBuffs's picture

ehhh...I just think she's dead.

But who knows! It's LOST.

Tina's picture

I enjoyed the episode and thought it had a lot going on. It will probably prove to be an important episode, and I know I'll want to see it again since I missed the first ten minutes. But I don't know that I loved it as much as you guys...at least on first viewing. ;)

Basically, I think if it hadn't ended with the Claire thing, I might have liked it more. Her smirky little smile and sudden "who cares" attitude about where her son was really bugged me. If she's dead, that makes more sense, I hadn't thought about that. I was just annoyed with her being there, with the dad she hates, just accepting the fact that Aaron shouldn't be there. And if they ARE removing her from harms way, why would she not want her son there. I don't know, it just bothered me.

Claire was like a different person. Maybe Aaron isn't her child. Maybe she just carried it. Juliet may know. Was Claire ever shown in the footage "on" the plane?? I can't remember.

They could keep this up for years. I need closure so I will still be watching.

isaac5's picture

alright all im saying is that claire has gone through tones of shock in the past couple of months (seasons[years{real life time in parentheses|lost time out of parentheses#this is fun$theses are unofficial smybols$#|}])and it has to be life changing i surprised she hasnt killed herself so she would follow her father and then he told her all about the island it totally changed her perspective of life and left aaron

could you belaeive this is coming from me an eleven year old?

isaac5's picture

cant wait till tonights episode they said theyre refurring to you as the oceanic six and there was a door opening HOLY CRAP JIN HAS TO DIE THIS WEEK!!!!!!!!

isaac5's picture

jin dies on the island because the date on his grave was the date of the crash and sun was sure he was really dead adn if in this episode the are first called the oceanic six then jin has to be killed in this episode! jin is going to die and with logic youve known he is dead for a while now

Tina's picture

Last night was great. It's interesting though how this year we kind of know what's going to happen in the finale, we just don't know how. It's a different perspective. I kind of like getting blown away by some new revelation, but with all the flash forwards, I'm not sure there's going to be anything like that this year. I guess we'll see in two weeks....

Daniel's picture

yeah last nights show was awesome. :) my prediction, which i'm usually wrong on this show, but oh well, is that not everyone is going to die. Like Desmond and Loche for instance. They can't die because their stories have too much "alternate focus" on the main plot of the survivors. I bet a handful of people are killed in the finale. My guess is mainly Sawyer and Jin. But the people (other than the Oceanic 6) that do survive to the next season will be the big twist/cliffhanger for this finale.

but then again they could just do another random snow tent scene like season 2 with Penny looking for everyone.

I don't think Sawyer and Jin die

LetsGoBuffs's picture

I'm looking forward to J.J. Abrams' new series in the fall! The trailer is pretty intriguing:

He's really into plane crashes and mental institutions, huh?

Tina's picture

Yeah, I'm definitely interested in his new show. Although I have to be honest, at this point I'm a big enough fan to give anything he does a chance. ;)

isaac5's picture

yeah that new show looks cool at have you guys ever seen him do anything with fox?

why sawyer ? jin will die but in "something nice back home" jack said it was sawyres choice to stay on the island.but jin will die

Um...ok, I feel like a total idiot. I watched this whole season thinking it was the last one. I never checked that on the internet, mind you. So tonight I watched what I thought was the series finally. You can imagine my surprise while watching the last scene of the season finally. I actually thought, "That was kind of a huge cliffhanger for the end of a series." I'm glad that there are a couple more seasons, though. I was a little sad that it was going to be all over.

LetsGoBuffs's picture

[EDIT - - MY MATH SUCKS]

We've got 2 more seasons, 16-episodes each. The final episode will air in 2010.

But how cool for you!!! I kinda wish I thought it was the end, but I was surprised by 3 more seasons! WOO HOO!

Can we wait for January/February?

Daniel's picture

so the island has a get of jail free device...
is that supposed to be how ben showed up in the desert, because he had a cut arm and was wearing the same coat then. if so, how is he traveling around and stuff??? i would have guessed that rabbit pod that he fried was the way he was doing it, but he seemed to destroy it when loche was watching the tape.
