This idea came from seeing the Ocean's 13 teaser in a theater. It was a quiet teaser, just the names and shots of the characters where shown. Then at the end it had like this long shot of Clooney, Pitt, and Dameon just sitting there looking cool not saying anything. As if to say to the audience "we are so cool, we don't even have to talk in our trailer and you'll still come see it." I believe it didn't even say the title of the film, just the month it was going to be released. I remember thinking, "[u]you arrogent son's of mothers![/u]" So, the idea spawned almost instantly to create a similar trailer cramming in as many characters as i could draw. I gave up at 40 :) originally it was gonna be 50 to 100, but i couldn't draw any more without taking another few weeks working on it, and in the end, this was just meant to be a fun little time waster. SO, 40 is the magic number.

Oh by the way, I couldn't help but notice that Matt Damon was wearing one of those "controversial" Superman missile HISHE shirts. That made me happy.

Anyway, I thought it was good except for the ending, which I'm some what disappointed because I thought you would end it like they traditionally do for the real Ocean trailers where Matt or Brad ask a rhetorical question and then George walks in to respond with some witty or completely obvious answer. Ex;
*Matt and Brad are staring out the window of a luxury hotel across the street at Casino.*
Matt: "Why did the chicken cross the road?"
*Slight chuckle from behind them as the cam. pans around behind them to reveal George leaning against the door frame of their room with a smile on his face and a glass of scotch in one hand.*
George: "To get to the Casino on the other side of course."
Other than that, you did another great job on this piece just like the rest of your work. I?¢‚Ǩ?°?É‚Äû?ɬ¥m really looking forward to your next Dewey animation.

Now that you did this trailer, I am not going to be able to watch Ocean 13, without going, "Damn this movie would so much better if it only had 27 more guys in it!"
Great work! You really nailed practically everyone there, although Optimus Prime was missing his pink /purple flames.
Also, it looks like Jon Heder is holding mini death star, am I seeing things?

Seeing optimus prime made me snort while laughing. I haven't done that since I was 7. Love these quickies. I'm so glad you're willing to put in all the time and effort, some of those drawings must have taken a while just to think up.

This one really cracked me up too...it was really hard to narrow it down to just those forty. I remember Cap was like, "Hasslehoff or Bruce Campbell." So glad we went with both. :D

Is it possible they actually thought the same idea up a year later? and that it just so happens to be the almost the exact premise and almost the same title as our short? if they were gonna steal an idea why would you run with Oceans 11???

I most definately think they saw yours, and just thought they would do thier own cast. They probably had it at 39 also and cut Bernie Mac. I also find David Letterman in both a little strange, Bruce Campbell is understandable but David Letterman.
They do it the exact same way and with the different, classic backround that the actor is known for(Bill Muhry as Ghostbuster, Justin Timberlake as that thingy) vs ( Leo is doing Titanic thing, Shatner is on Enterprise, Antonio Bandreas is dressed as Zoro.) This smells of copy pasta.
