I loved this movie, I don't know what it was. I expected to be bored out of my head but I nearly cried 3 times, and it is easily one of my all time. What did you guys think of it?

P.S. I'm currently working on memorizing the fuck all speech, it sounds bad but it was amazing.

This is a fantastic film.  Extremely well acted, moving story, interesting characters.  I rented it on a whim years ago (because I love Ed Norton) and was surprised at how good it is.  I don't always "get" Spike Lee, but he hit this one out of the park.

Sorta Spoiler

As a side note, we love giving the champagne toast from that film (although we don't really mean it)!

"Champagne for my real friends, and real pain for my sham friends."

Am i unintelligent for

Am i unintelligent for having to google the end of this movie, I could not figure out what happened at first *Spoiler Alert* I assumed he went to jail but I wasn't positive so I googled it, was that unintelligent of me or is it fairly common with this movie?

Yoda vs. Superman

I don't even remember this coming out

Yoda vs. Superman

I liked the movie, but I

I liked the movie, but I didn't like that speech he gave in front of the mirror.  The speech itself might have been fine, but compared to the style of the rest of the movie it felt like it was disjointed. Kind of like if you were reading a book and it's told from a 3rd person omnision point of view, and then one scene switches to 1st person limited. It seems like in every Spike Lee film that I can remember he has one scene that is a complete break from the rest of the movie and feels out of place.  In "He Got Game" he hits you over the head with the not so subtle father son passing of the torch symbolism ending scene where Denzel throws the basketball over the prison wall.  In "Inside job" after the hostages kill someone, Denzel has that weird close up camera mounted floating through the crowd scene.  I'm sure theres others that I just can't think of at this moment.
