This film is visually arresting and unlike anything I've seen in a while. I can't imagine changing a thing, so I give it 5 out of 5.

That movie made me so fired up, I wanted to run through the night carrying a sharp object and knock over trash cans like they were trying to steal my land. :D

That's what I love about frank miller, he's so over the top that the inaccuracies are part of his art. I loved "Sin City" with a passion and I'm definitely going to see this

I have been excited about this for a while, and the review on the main site and the positive comments here have only got me more excited. can't wait.

God that movie could have "Just Missed" and sucked horribly in so many ways.... yet, somehow it's just 100% awesome! If I had to define this movie in one phrase I'd say "over the top in the best way possible."
5/5

What surprised me the most about 300 is that they toke the cheesiest one-liners in the movie industry and turned them into pure gold. In the back of my head as I contemplate about how they accomplished this, while watching the movie at the same time when the king says "Come and take them!?¢‚Ǩ?°?É‚Äû?ɬ? I blurted out "How? How did they do it?" I cross my heart and hope to die what I tell you next is true.
A guy sitting right next to me under the 'box' with half his face luminated from the projector with a slight orange glow from a cigarette on the dark side of face says to me, "They found a way..." He cocks his head slightly to the left so he can see me eye to eye and whispers, "...They found a way."

OH. MAN. I loved everything about this movie. I loved the King screaming. I loved the arrows raining down on them, making the sky black. I loved them laughing while taking cover beneath their shields. I loved the leather briefs and the abs galore. I loved the colors and the texture and how the blood looked when it splattered. I loved the Queen and what she did to that guy in front of the council. I loved the wall they built.
I don't know much about Frank Miller, but what else has he done that can be made into a film? Between this and Sin City, I'm sold - - whatever it is.
For a nice fairly mindless summer action movie, this one gets 100 gold flaky stars in my book. I think it ROCKS.

I give the movie a 9.5 out of 10, the only problem I had with it was the half naked men in leather undies and all the deformed lesbian amputees. But once you get past that stuff the movie was incredible. There was a lot of gore but it was done well and the nudity, well... let's just say it must be cold in Greece. Just joking. (I hope I don't get kicked out for that. i don't know what the policy is on obscenity or stuff like that). I actually heard someone say it was the worst movie they had ever seen because it was just "pointless fighting." So Simplecap if there is anybody you need to stab it's that guy.

Actually, the battle of Thermopylae (better known as the battle of the 300) was where the phrase "come and take them" originated. Several phrases from the movie are genuine quotes from that battle, such as the "we shall fight in the shade" line.

Well if you want to be techincal, then you'll find they never actually said any of thoughs lines at all.

If anybody watches AOTS on G4 you'd know that Frank Miller is working on another movie focusing on some other Greek hero(s). Or the maybe it would take off where the first ended with the battle of Salamis where the united Greeks defeat the Persians. Hopefully a sequel won't totally suck.

Wow, I go away for a few days and the forum is BUSY!!
Dr. Oblivious...hilarious, your absolutely right. In any other context some of those lines would be ridiculous, but I loved them in this film.

That is so very cool.
And to Kweejibo, I'm not sure how I feel about a sequel. I suppose if Frank Miller does it first, then it could be magic. I am sort of fond of this piece standing alone though.

Since we're on the subject of on-liners, guess who's getting a new lunch box for the office.
If you said Dr. Oblivious then you are indeed correct, as reward you'll receive a soy cookie in three or four business days. We also would of accepted ego, maniac, or any combination of the two.

sweet. But man, what a violent lunch box. :)

That's nothing, I'll be filling the thermos with nothing less than blood red tomato soup. I should get a few laughs over that one at the office.

Sorry for the double post, but this is a must see trailer if there ever was a PG version of 300. I'm having trouble typing this because I can't stop laughing.

I like when they are charging at the big cake and someone shouts, "FROSTING!"

I know this has nothing to with the actual movie, but as I type this message this very moment. South Park is currently showing a parody for 300.
"Madness? This-is-LESBO!"

I love how they randomly inserted live-action Underdog into the mix!

I nearly died from laughter from this one, it's 300 done with Anchorman.

This was a truly spectacular film. It reminded me what a motion picture should be like. It should fill you with an urge to treat your eyes to a real visual masterpiece because its a privledge for filmmakers to have a chance to amaze viewers!............sorrry about that. I got...um...carried away with that. It was an awesome movie. Some of the best camera work I've seen since War of the Worlds in '05. Zack Snyder captured the essence in war. Though it had had a lot of slow-mo and CG, it wasn't abbused. I can't tell you how many films I've seen where computer graphics have dominated the entire film, but it present like an artwork in 300. I also noticed the authenicity of culture and religion of ancient Greece in the movie. I definitely agree with the rating you gave it, Tina.
Amazing
instead of burning my eyes out with blinding explosions, this film actally seemed to massage my eyes. the quality and effects were so breathtaking, so graphic. i was almost jumping out of my seat cheering for the spartans. i think before the excitment burns out of this film, ill have to see it... maybe another 300 times... or 3000 xD
