Yes, i am a brazilian dude and i have to promote national movies...(this is not about promotion, just sharing my knowlegde wit ya)Film industry in Brazil has been growing and this year we got several nominees for the Cannes award. The prestige to national movies inside of the coutry isn't growing, though. Pity...There are some great brazilian movies that I highly recommend. One is Tropa de Elite(sorry guys, don't know how they translated the tittle) and the other is Abismo Prateado(the one that is going to Cannes)The thing about brazilian film industry is that isn't quite an industry yet. Directors and actors have to produce the movies by themselves and if they want more bold(or expensive) productions they have to ask for help of Rede Globo(a television studio that kinda monopolizes television in brazil). Moreover, there is a lack of advertisiment on promotion of trhe movies, the people don't get to know about new national releases...I reckon that the foundation of a new studio that would help producing movies and promoting them would give a long needed boost to the national production.Still, I'm just a kiddo with silly dreams...hope someday we will be able to watch good american movies(not only stupid blockbusters) and good brazilian movies in every theaterThank you for the attention,Afonso ;)
