Any recommendations, DVDs, or just a show we can still possibly on TV that you would like to recommend? I know the topic is comedies, because thats mostly what I was interested in, but a page specifically for British television would be nice.
I know it would be a bit cliche to recommend Monty Pythons Flying Circus but it's on my list of favorites as well as Mr. Bean and

Any other suggestions, or comments on favorites?

Spaced and early Red Dwarf are good if you're geek like me.
The Young Ones and Bottom are cool too.

I hate Mr. Bean with a flaming passion
British Comedies
I reconmend Life on mars, Ashes to Ashes and Balckadder.
their all cool dramas except blackadder thats a comedy but still really great.

As far as classics, 'Fawlty Towers' and the BBC miniseries of Hitchhikers Guide to the Galaxy are 'must watch'. As far as newer stuff, Spaced, Black Books, Green Wing and the Office

I hope you are baseing that off the final movie he did, that was supposed introduce America to the character which was "Mr. Beans Holiday." The movie was truely the worst of the stuff he has done (Yet I liked it  )
The TV show for me will never get old.

NO, I mean I saw a couple of Mr. Bean movies and skits years and years before the American movie came out, and I've always been angrier after I watched them than before...
I.DO.NOT.LIKE.MR.BEAN.ONE.SINGLE.BIT!!!

I saw the movie "Bean" which is hilarious I don't really like the idea of a near speechless character though
this short is my favorite

It's not man, and Rowan Atkinson is in fact a comedy genuis, you should check out some of his stand-up it might fit you better animal, than his show. He was also in Blackadder too.

I was going to say you can't go wrong with Black Adder - except season 1 wasn't very good and season 4 was just season 2 all over again. Rowan Atkinson was great playing a b*****d and I prefer those roles to his more Bean-like creations.
We have a good line in satire which started with the now ancient That Was the Week That Was and has carried on to programs like The Day to Day and comedy news quizes like Mock the Week & Have I got News for You.
Also worth mentioning: Top Gear. It is childish & silly & terribly out of touch (car reviews are usually supercars). But it can be really entertaining.

Actually "Bean" the first one was the movie to introduce America to Mr. Bean as that was the setting and the "Mr. Beans Holiday" was set in France so it couldn't been the film to introduce America to Mr. Bean.

right,
he went to LA in Bean
it had to do with this painting i can't remember the name of :?

Haven't seen the movie since it was in the theaters (in 97 or 98) but I believe it was Whistler's Mother and he sneezed on it or something.

he sneazed on the painting, he pulled out his handkerchief and wiped the painting but he had a broken pen in his pocket which covered the handkerchief with blue ink so he put some ink remover on the painting tto get the ink off and it worked, resolution music played... SURPRISE the ink remover also got rid of the paint around the whistlers mothers head then he drew a funny looking face in attempt to replace it

I did mean the audience, but ness is still correct.

OK, now we're talking! In no particular order:
- Peep Show (very hysterical, very adult Britcom)
- That Mitchell & Webb Look (same comedy duo as above, but a sketch show)
- The IT Crowd (more standard-issue Britcom, but with genius writing and acting)
- The League of Gentlemen (think Monty Python meets David Lynch)
- The Office (vastly superior to the American version, IMHO. Ricky Gervais is a comedic w?Ǭ?nderkind)
- Extras (more Gervais -- not quite as sharp as The Office, but hilarious nonetheless)
There are probably a million more, but those are the ones I've been most keen on lately.

if it's superior to the American version it must be pretty amazing
but i got used to the American version first, so seeing all the characters with different names and played by different actors would just be weird, I think I'll wait to rent a couple episodes on DVD once the American isn't showing anymore and I'm older..

The whole UK Office vs. American Office question is a very polarizing one. I think the UK version is a thousand times better. Still, I have several friends whose opinions I deeply respect that just can't get into the original UK version, but love the American version. I guess you just have to watch and see for yourself.

No, but I did say it would come across cliche to recommend it. However, I guess I kinda reccommend in EVERY post I make!

I think Cosgrove Hall's cartoons deserve a mention:
Danger Mouse
Count Duckula
Avenger Penguins
Also a lot of people have a soft spot for their Wind in the Willows series.
If you like that lot, you might also like Rhubarb & Custard, which had a unique look thanks to the use of felt tip pens to colour the cells.

after i saw The BBC version of the office, i gave up with english comedy...
especially after i saw how great the american one was.
