yes that trailer was GREAT at first i thought it was a documentary about Darfur Iraq or Wal-mart but then... ooh hat was so awesome but it probbibly wont be aloud to see it was a one time miracle that i was able to watch Cloverfield I don't think ill be able to watch this but who knows

Back when Peter Jackson handed the Halo project to Blomkampt I was curious so I went and watched his shorts online. After watching the shorts, I was of the opinion that his talents were above doing something as commercial and "easy" as a Halo movie (no disrespect to Halo, but it's not nearly as "deep" as people like to make it out to be).

Nevertheless, when the Halo project fell through, I was concerned that this guy had missed his big break and that we wouldn't see anything else from him besides the occasional short film that made it online.

Looks like it's going to work out for him after all, and perhaps better than if he had done the Halo film.

Can't wait to see this film.

Man...I like the concept, and I love Sci-Fi movies. I always get nervous for Rated-R movies though...Alien killed that crazy for me. Good movie...until I ran away screaming at pretty much every scene after...actually, I can't remember that movie at all. Wha... :?

An extraterrestrial race forced to live in slum-like conditions on Earth suddenly find a kindred spirit in a government agent that is exposed to their biotechnology.

I liked the movie, but quickly gotten tired of seeing through the camera's eye.
There is a lot of potential for a series but I am not a 100% sure the movie alone is worth the high praise. It clearly hit on a lot of moral, racial and historical issues. If you liked Cloverfield, then you will like District 9.
4 out 5 with a star on hold if the series delivers.

I loved it...it made me so sad though that the aliens turned out to be more human that we were. It was action packed and heartwrenching. Awesome. Real. Raw. Original.

Except I couldn't handle the whole fingernails scene. That made me squeal.

I actually think movies are better with out all of the unnecessary cursing or nudity (unless of course it adds in a positive way to the plot of the movie)

Swearing in movies tends to be because the writers aren't smart enough to come up with good dialogue so they swear. And nudity is almost always a desperate attempt to get guys to say "I usually wouldn't watch this movie... But hey there's nudity"
