Although I agree with Tina for the most part, I think Hathaway and Carell were great together. After watching it the second time i think there are very subtle build ups in their relationship. Yeah it could have been better, but I think it's there.

also The second time I watched the movie though I started noticing all the camera dolly shots in slow motion. I think Micheal Bay must have sneaked on set a few times in the making of this movie :)

also Anne Hathaway can call me anytime! :)

oh and what happened with Bill Murray???? his cameo was so brief, did anyone stay through the credits to see if he came back?

There was nothing during or after the credits unfortunately... I thought the movie was good though... very funny.... some classic moments...

Haven't seen the movie, but (in the series) Bill Murray's character was always treated a bit rough. He'd turn up in a mail box or something... they'd accidentally blow up said mailbox with him in it. Smart would pause for a second, shrug... and then go on with the rest of the adventure. Next week, he'd be dressed up as a working gas pump or something.

For me, the movie totally exceeded expectations. It didn't take itself seriously, yet there was some pretty serious action in it. Steve Carrell can do NO WRONG. The man is GENIUS!

I was totally entertained, start to finish.

Just to defend my review, I think Hathaway and Carell were a great team...I just don't buy them as a couple.

I agree though, I was definitely entertained from start to finish and I would pretty much watch Steve Carell in anything. He is gold. ;)

MINOR SPOILER

But, the line out of the entire movie that cracked me up the most was:

"Are you thinking what I'm thinking?"
"I don't know. Are you thinking holy shit, holy shit a swordfish almost went through my head. If that's the case then yes."

END SPOILER

Yeah, that was the only part where everyone in the audience laughed out loud.  It was the only joke that was NOT in the trailer... what a shame the trailer dampened a very funny movie. Check out my Sci-fi Art and Sculpture http://www.marty.com.au

Yeah, I almost busted a gut during that part! Alan Arkin is GENIUS!

I think that joke stole the whole show :) I'm with tina, I feel like if I hadn't seen the trailers for get smart a bazillion times, I would think this movie was the funniest thing all summer.

Yeah.... I once wrote an article about how you could probably piece the best parts of movies by all of the trailers and tv spots... but, I guess it's gotten better since the good old movie days when trailers were 8 minutes long and showcased the title about eight times throughout...

I just watched it last night, and I have to say it's defiantly got to be the best comedy of the year.

I appreciate the good comedies like this where it's real humor. :P
Not 90 minutes dedicated to fart jokes are getting kicked in the groin.

...Which is alot of movies these days.
