Another week down... Time moves too quickly. I wont have a new comic for a few days. I spent this last week working on the next short, which was very successful. Not to build it up, but I think it looks fantastic. Ha! I'm sure that makes all the people waiting for the next release real happy. "Hey it looks great, that's wonderful, just release it already!" The answer is, all in due time. It's not finished yet, and too many things are in motion right now to even talk about specific release dates. But at least you can be happy knowing lots of work is going into current progress. Other News: I got some practice painting in this weekend as well. I don't know if this is final or not, but I like the way it turned out so far. [img]http://th08... that's all I've got to report for now. Watchmen will be out soon, which we will be sure to give our report on when it's here. I am very excited to see the movie myself.

I'm sure you heard this already but practising is the key to getting good as that, simplecap has been doing this most of this life not surprising how good he is.

Don't stress too much over the short, Dan...
I'd rather it be good & funny than rushed & plain...

The weekend is over, which was awesome weather here in Texas?Ǭ¨?¢‚Ǩ¬†I might add, and I've had time to, as Tina puts in her review "Absorb" Watchmen. So, to not take away from Tina's Review, I'd like to share my thoughts on, something else about the film. The more I think about it, the more I love this movie. Everything except for the hallelujah love scene... That was just awkward.
In my experience with most film re-makes of comic heroes or just plain cartoon tv shows, I've always wished one of them would have the guts to just hit the ground running expecting you (the fans) to already know which character is which and just dive right into the story, and Watchmen finally granted my wish. But now I see how that is not always a smart move when not everyone in the world knows who Rorschach is. That makes for a challenging story to sell, and hearing the reaction of a few of my friends I can't help but think a watered down less giant spoon fed version of Watchmen might actually taste better to the new unaware audience. But does that make a movie better? Does that mean Watchmen stinks? HECK NO! It just means Watchmen is even more bold in my opinion. Everything except the hallelujah love scene that is. I'm proud that this film took a book that has never been made to film before and just went for it. No trilogy. Just one complete movie. I like that.
In closing, after this weekend, I am REALLY excited to see what films come out after this. The latest trailer for Star Trek is awesome, and the New Trailer for Terminator Salvation is even better. It was a good movie weekend?Ǭ¨?¢‚Ǩ¬†:)

So HISHE is coming up on the one year mark for new cartoons, and I feel it's time to bring this subject to the main page. It has been asked by many people, "when is the new one coming out" or "are we even still making new shorts?". And rightfully so considering it has been a year. There are a few reasons why things have slowed down. Some which I've said before, and somethings I haven't. The first reason is quite frankly, I got burnt out. Not bored, just ran out of juice. It takes many many days, usually weeks to create these animated videos, and when I can only put in a few hours a day after work just to complete one, you start getting worn out. You stop being social, you are constantly working from dayjob to website, you start to feel like you are wasting your life in front of a screen. So, I slowed down. I focused on making comics in my free time instead of animation, and I think the zombie series is actually pretty good for my second series. But it is time to shift gears. I have rested and now feel ready to jump back into animation. What you don't know is that I'm a digital artist by profession, so in the year that you've been waiting thinking we've given up, I've actually improved my skills in both art and animation and it is time to put that effort into HISHE.
This is the reason for this update. As of now, I am putting the zombie series on hold since part one is completed, and will be focusing all my effort toward the completion of our Terminator short that I started so long ago. My desire is to have it completed before the new movie is out in May. That gives me almost 2 months to pull it off. Some work has already been completed, but there's still a long way to go since this is actually the most complicated animation I've ever tackled. So to make sure I have all the free time I can available to the shorts, the webcomic is going to stop for now.
I hope this is actually good news to everyone. The comic will resume afterward, so don't worry about that. I hope you all will join me in my excitement for the next summer, because I'm very jazzed about the next batch of HISHE shorts to come after this one kicks it off. We have so many titles to run with after last summer alone, it's going to be fantastic! Thanks again to everyone for sticking with us for this long. I hope to bring you a new cartoon (and many more) very soon.
HISHE News
I think this is great cap!! I enjoyed the zombies so far but i would like to see a new short come, hishe can't survive without cartoons not comics.
hopefuly we see terminator before the new movie comes out, that would be great!! even if its not it will still be nice to see a new hishe :)

You have my support! :D It's crazy to think that Beowulf was the last HISHE.... it almost doesn't seem like it's been a year...
I remember getting so excited when you said you were going to do a Halo HISHE.... but, since you announced Terminator... I've been patiently waiting... and I'm sure the wait'll be worth it...
HISHE News
This is exciting. As cool as the comic is, I can't imagine any fan would be disappointed with you redirecting attention back to the cartoons, that is after all what brought us here in the first place. This is great news (and as someone who also didn't do much of anything creative-wise the last year, I know what it's like to be burned out)
HISHE News
I know exactly how you feel about getting "burnt out." Wrestling season goes from November to March (don't forget we started weightlifting in July), so not only did I have to give up part of my summer, I also go to school, then practice, then homework. And most weekends we have tournaments (which last all day). Sometimes all we need are those few weeks of "mental break"
HISHE News
This is cool news. I remember when I stumbled on the Spiderman HISHE and watched about four times it was so funny.
I never would have imagined being friends with the creators. :)
HISHE News
thanks for the support guys. I knew yall would have my back. :)

HISHE News
WOOT!
Star Wars, Superman, Matrix, AND Beowulf are all finally over a million views now on youtube :)
I'm am mostly happy about the first three because we had to earn all of our views back after the Divx days.
Man, that feels so long ago.

The most views I've ever had on a video is just over 32,000 As seen here (seriously click it... You know you want to)
Maybe you guys can show me how to get a million views
HISHE News
You guys have totally earned those views. I think the most views I've ever gotten was just over 800,000 on the Boobarella video (which I subsequently deleted).
I think, given the popularity of your videos, focusing on making more cartoons is great idea.
HISHE News
not much to look at, but this is my list of scenes for Terminator :)
http://twitpic.com/3anjp
I think Spiderman had around 14 total.
HISHE News
I don't know if it's just me, but I'm not seeing anthing, just a broken image link.
HISHE News
hmm, apparently twitpic isn't so nice. I'll just change it to a direct link
HISHE News
That's a LOT of scenes! Is this one gonna be 2 hours long? :)
HISHE News
no, it's actually a standard size short. little over 2 minutes. It just has many many locations with lots-o-interactions and much faster pace than spiderman.
My goal is to not push the short too far after 2 minutes, just because your average audience starts to lose interest after that point. Although I'm sure lots of HISHE fans feel they deserve a full length feature from us after waiting so long. :) I'm hoping everyone will be satisfied with the new one after they see what we've been making.
HISHE News
I have no doubt its going to be brilliant.
Can't wait till it comes out.
HISHE News
I agree about the length. People on the Internet can't focus for more than 2 minutes. Usually only for about 30 seconds.
