I think we're supposed to believe that's how Ben got to the desert, since like you said, its the same jacket and his arm is injured. But that definitely plays into the odd timing of things because in that flash forward it seemed the Oceanic 6 had been back long enough for Sayid to get married and have his wife die.

It was a good finale. Not awesome like previous ones, but still good. I got goosebumps when Penny saw Desmond. I didn't realize I cared about them that much until that scene. I think I felt a little bit of the "rush" of the writer's strike, but they still delivered.

That area messed with time and space, thats why Ben asked the year when he got to the hotel.

I am curious where they are going to go with the show next year. Will they show us the three years in between or will they pick up at the end of the finale? I suppose probably a combination of both since they have real time and flash back/forwards to work with.

So what's the deal with the "Dharma Wants You" thing anyway? I keep getting emails from them, but haven't really had time to keep track. I assume it's an ARG like The Lost Experience, but I haven't seen much in the way of creepy/cool video clips or secret Web sites with passwords to hack into this time around. Is it worth the bother?

I haven't seen much so far. I'm not sure if I'm just not playing it effectively or not spending enough time hunting easter eggs or whatever...but I assume that it will get better and they're just dragging it out. If something exciting happens, I'll post it here. But so far...ehhh...

I disagree, bobreeda. I think Season 4 was really interesting, and we got to see so much that we've never seen before. There's the Jacob craziness, the freighter craziness, and the flash forward/flash back sequences. There's not knowing if Ben is totally evil or if he has an ultimate plan of goodness. There's the Widmore story, there's the Penny and Desmond story. They moved the flippin' island!

I think Season 4 was great, and I'm really looking forward to the final 2 seasons!

LOST is back early! Season 5 will start with a 2 hour premiere on Wednesday, Jan. 21. Before that will be a one-hour clip show.

I like them only that they get my head back in the game. If I don't get to rewatch all of Season 4 before Season 5 starts, it helps remind me of what I've forgotten.

yeah yeah i know, but they can pull the we all have to go back to the island together so we can make a 5th sea-- i mean so jack can find his destiny and stop being so miserable. ehh... i dunno... i mean, its a great show overall, thats the only thing that makes in seem a little lame,, but i'm still gonna watch the 5th season. good show, its deserves probably 4/5, in my opinion.

I will agree with one thing you said, bobreeda -- the morally dubious characters are definitely the most interesting and (to me, anyway) appealing.

I appreciate that, in a medium which tends to deal in the easy contrast of "good" versus "bad," the Lost writers give TV viewers the credit to recognize the gray area in which everyone, fictional or not, truly lives.

In particular, I've always been partial to Locke who, let's face it, has done some pretty reprehensible things. But what I love is that they're showing us both the good and bad that can come from unyielding faith. Likewise for the unyielding reason that, until recently anyway, has been Jack's modus operandi.

And I agree alexs and bobreeda--aside from the mythology of the island, the thing that really holds my interest is the good v. bad of every character. Some of the most selfless acts on the island have been done by people with very shady pasts, and some of the most heinous were by those that appear to be squeaky clean. You get to see the good and bad of each character, and nobody is easy to figure out.

That's why I'm really excited to see how Ben nets out. It seems that he's awful, but I know that there's good inside of him. I think we're going to see a lot of that this season.

I agree with everyone...I love the characters and their complexities. I'm sure that's why I've hung around, despite some frustration. I am very excited about the new season!

I can't really read this thread, because I'm always behind. I tried going back a few posts and already thought I was on thin ice in terms of spoilers.

Season 4 on DVD was a Christmas present, though, so I'm back on the edge of my seat again, wondering what strange rabbit hole we'll be chasing down next. I think we're on episode 5... uh, just finished "The Other Woman." But I have to wait until the three friends I'm watching with are available again! Aggh - must. be. pa. tient.

i had a horrible expieriance with one of those in mid September 2007we started cathing up with lost we had never seen it before and then in november we finished season two i think then we needed to wait until december 11 for season 3 to be on dvd then we finished it in january so we were up to speed already then when season 4 had its premiere we thought it was going to be a 2 hour episode we couldnt stay up for the second half then we couldnt watch lost at all we just got up to speed when we already were!!!!!!!! it stunk

No one is talking about the first three episodes?? What does everyone think? I'm personally enjoying it and think the new format of flashes is pretty cool. I love that LOST has changed up its storytelling the last few years.
