This movie was pretty terrible...at least I thought so...in case you can't tell from my review. :) I did give it 2 out of 5 stars because it wasn't a total waste and was pretty well produced. In fact, it had too much money dumped on it. Makes me kind of sad.
Can I also say, for all my trash talk, I actually like Brendan Fraser. I admire the guy for embracing his career. I saw the live action Looney Tunes movie the other day (not exactly on purpose) and thought, "wow, this guy is the "go to" actor for this kind of movie." Anyway, I think he's great at what he does.
I'm betting this thread gets no comments because if you saw a movie this weekend, I hope you just saw Dark Knight again. ;)

Mummy 3
Nope, I had to go with my little brother to Journey to the center of the earth.
I miss Rachel Weizes
You should have seen Journey AT the center of the earth: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bjJ-Qe73boQ
I had the option between seeing the Mummuy for the first time or seeing batman for the third time Saturday and I'm glad I went to Dark Night. I did however download the Mummy at home last night and I have to agree with everything red said.
The cheesiest part of the movie for me, was at the begining of the movie where Evey is reading her book. (I really think they used Rachel Weizes real voice when they showed Evey without showing her face btw) Then someone in the audience asks if the woman in the mummy story was her, and then the camera reveals someone else (maria Bello) is now Evey and she says "No. That was someone entirely different" .
Maybe I read too much into it, but it felt like they put this in the movie as a little wink to the audience to address the fact that the role now was played by someone else. Don't wink at me, just write a better script, pay some more money, and get the original Evey back.
Oh, and what do you think the real life age difference is between between O'connel's actor and his Son's actor? I looked it up and Brendan Frasier is 39 and Luke ford is 26. I thnk Maria Bello had more chemistry with the guy playing her son than the guy playing her husband.
And why the F, after everything Evey and Rick have been through, would they even think for a moment about helping the badguys bring the mummy back to life? Bad guys "We'll kill you if you don't help us" Rick and Evey: "Ok, that's fine" Maybe that should be the next HISHE:
O'connels Kid opens the vault with the dragon emporer in it.
Professor who turns out to be bad: "Wow Alex, what an amazing discovery. This is truly one of the greatest archelogical discoveries of the last half century"
Alex: "Yep, it sure is......... Ok guys, grab the dynamite, let's Blow It Up!"
Mummy 3
I'm ashamed to say that I paid to see this movie, too. I did go with someone in college who got my ticket for $5. That's a little consolation.
I think for me, the point of no return into cheesy moviedom was when one yeti kicked a bad guy over an archway that loosely resembled goalposts, and another yeti put both arms up in the air like the ref would at a football game. I really checked out at that point. It also could have been the fact that our theater was about 1 million degrees, and I wanted to take my shirt off, which is saying a lot for me. I have moles on my stomach.

That scene right above was just horrible, It was completely boring and I was like...do the people even know what theyre doing? My friend and I were going to go see this movie, this friday. I'm sure the heck not. He's probably going to be dissapointed in me, because whenever I try to give him some good advince regarding a bad review for a movie he just....doesn't care. Anyway I should stop talking about personal problems.
oouch

Seriously...don't watch the whole thing, it's boreing it only takes the first minute or so to get my point. Unfortunatley I'm writing this last so some of you might of watched the whole thing anway.
The Mummy: Tomb of the Dragon Emperor
I thought this movie was great. jet li was soooo hot in this one :D . I really enjoyed the music and my fav part was the battle between the conquered soldiers and the terra cotta soldiers. the way that the movie was entitled the "Mummy" was to signify that Emperor Han was mummified as a terra cotta soldier.
Mummy 3
Ouch, this movie really flew, crashed, burned, and exploded. It's so sad that they plan to make another sequel.
So i'm guessing the next one will be called something like...
The Mummy: Rise of the Boogey Man from Outer Space
Mummy 3
The Sad thing is that if a movie makes enough money there most likely will be a sequel. Hence the problem with major bombs like Epic movie, Meet the Spartans, and now Disaster movie.
200th POST!

Sorry, I've been on vacation...but I just had to say, that is brilliant Big Lazy. I didn't catch that at all when I watched it, but I think you're totally right.

Great line, the best I have seen in a long time. ROFLOL
I remember saying with the trailer came out, "Hey, where is Rachel Weiz?" My mom said that she did an interview in which she said she could do the movie because of her baby. "Yeaah right", I thought. Actors drag their new borns across the world for a good movie. If this was a good script she would be there even if it was for a few scenes.
Also, Big Lazy...I thought the same thing to about the age of the kid in relation to the others. They didn't bother to even try to age B. Frasier in fact the guy must have had botox. Then they bring in a kid that looks 5 years younger then him. It is this dumb, keep every one in the script the same age as the average audiance member seeing this. See the Terminator TV show for more examples.)
Mummy 3
I havnt seen this yet, and i dont plan to, for this reason. I first saw the mummy and mummy returns when i was a child, i thought they were the greatest, i must have seen them like a billion times, they are a great memory for me, because after the mummy i did start watching other types of films, not just disney, and star wars (i must have been about 8), and then this film comes along. The Mummy:The Tomb of the Dragon Emporer. There is no Mummy in this. Well Jet Li is kind of a Mummy, but theres no Imhotep, no Egypy, no Rachel freakin Weisz (however you spell it). I now realise how alot of people who grew up with star wars felt about the prequals (not me, i loved them), and theres a sequal. Whats it gonna be, since they've abandonded the concept of the mummy, maybe it will be, The Mummy:The O'connels go to the dentist, or something like that. I mean they have no where else to go with these characters. While the Dark Knight restored my faith in new movies, this has destroyed it, and i havn't watched it yet.
Mummy 3
my dad got the titles of the movie screwed up! i told him to get just The Mummy, the first one
instead i had to waste and hour and 45 minutes of my time watching it
I HATED THIS!!! thats all that needs to be said!!!
Adventure Gone Wrong
I am a HUGE fan of the Mummy series, so when I saw this I was about to start cying. The plot was simple (OK, not SO bad), the movie flew by extremely fast,, and though time doesn't make a good movie, it was a waste of my time. There weren't any moments where I felt close to any of the characters (even when 'O' Connell was shot). The movie was over in flash. A flash consisting of kung fu-fighting mummies, gun shots, and countless exotic chases.
