Depends on the quality you want...
If you don't need anything fancy then any mic will suffice (however if your not careful you will get a lot of wind and noise)
If you want a better quality then youi will have to invest more on an expensive mic

my mic is freakin terrible!!!!!!!!!!!!
if you have a pc
1. A heavy duty USB mic with a lot of padding - it'll be High Quality it'll have very little wind noise but it'll sound unnatural like a studio recording but good for pod-casts definitely the best headset option
2. Any kind of table mic - I have very limited expieriance but from my limited expieriance ther pretty good - but always always get padding!!!
if you you have a mac
dont buy a mic there inbred mics are the best - any inbred mic is the best even if you have a pc
inbred mics in my experience are the best

if you use a computer mic, make sure your record settings are set high. audio is so much easier on your hard drive than video so higher settings probably wont even choke your ram. And even though it's not the best mic, it can still record pretty well in the right environment. That's what I started out with.
Now I use an AKG mic that feeds into a little mixer, and that works perfectly for what we do.

His advice about the mac is very good. Dont bother geting another mic. That's the best option for any regular audio effects.
(if you want vid at the same time use Photo Booth, then for editing i find iMovie to be the best, Dont get pro unless you really want to make it look professional)
But if you want to do what dan and the others are doing, Definately get an outside mic. Also get a mixer like Cap said. Im pretty shure that iMovie Pro will work fine, but nothing below (for Caps standerds). You can do all your sound editing in iMovie Pro, and also the fades and such in between the sceans. iMovie pro also alows you to add an outside sound track such as music or even just sound effects.[/
