This movie was an enjoyable revisit to one of my favorite franchises as a kid. From what I could tell, the next generation of kids will enjoy the TMNT as well. I give it 3 out of 5.

TMNT
I loved the movie! I remember being absolutely fired up about the original movie back in the day. I was so happy to see that they kept the ninja turtles the same ninja turtles. There were times when i thought they were going to change everything, but they stayed true to the past. well, except for April's fighting skills and Splinter being like 80 years younger.

Just to clarify...I know there has been a new cartoon on since 2003. When I say BACK, I mean back in theaters...and since I don't have the luxury of Saturday morning cartoons anymore, this is a return for me! ;)
TMNT
You're not missing much with the morning cartoons. It's too American anime. Where the characters are too over the top and everyone's hair has no boundaries. Plus they try and stray too much from the classic villains like Shredder. It's hard for me to even watch a full episode. In fact I've only seen two.
TMNT
Has anyone ever seen the original TMNT comic books?
Before they became some colorized children's fare they were actually leaned toward a more adult theme. They were even part of an expansion D&D type game beofre they ever saw Saturday morning cartoon.
Since I can't figure out how to post pictures here, (please help), I'll post a site that shows this point...

At least it's not the Japanese version, where the turtles brothers are capable of transforming into power rangers and also capable of merging together into a giant triple winged power turtle from crystals given to them by some magical princess...to fight a 200 foot tall Mecha-Shredder.
No joke. Link
P.S. Shredder also a robot :P
TMNT
Oh, that's great. "Saint Mutation! Kick ass!" I would agree that the American cartoon is marginally better. But when the turtles transformed they didn't even look like turtles!

:?: "We're no slow-poke turtles" :?:

Could a cartoon be destroyed more thoroughly? I submit to you that it cannot!

I finally saw this movie. I was pleasantly surprised... for the most part. One thing that bothered me was how they changed Casey Jones' character. I liked him better in the show. He was a lot cooler. But the action in this movie was awesome!
Oh, and btw, that freaky japanese TMNT... WOW. Wow. I haven't laughed that hard in a long time. That was comedy.

Would you believe me if I said they made an animated movie of said Japanese TMNTs? Cause they did.

That 2 minute youtube clip of the TMNT Japenese version was by far one of the most Bat S*** Crazy things I've ever seen, so I don't even want to think what an entire movie would look like.

My opinion is that I saw this when I was 8 and loved it. I still do so think it was very well done. A perfect balance of comedy and action/adventure.
