So if the title has confused you, then I've done my job! Basically, as we all know, Obi-Wan Kenobi has been played by two different actors. In the Original Trilogy, Obi-Wan Kenobi was played by (Sir) Alec Guinness. It's no secret that he HATED Star Wars. He doesn't want his fans watching Star Wars. And, according to him, it was his idea to have Obi-Wan killed off early. However, he had absolutely ZERO problem with taking the money to play him in three straight movies. In the New Trilogy, Obi-Wan Kenobi was played by Ewan McGregor. Ewon was a huge fan of Star Wars and, prior to, preferred to play in smaller movies. He made an exception for Star Wars and was very excited about his role and happy to have done it. So, my question to you all is: Which Obi-Wan "Ben" Kenobi do you prefer, and why?

I'll start by casting my vote for Ewan McGregor.I know this is against what most "die hard" Star Wars fans go against but hear me out here. If you take a look at the old Star Wars films, (Sir) Alec Guinness hated Star Wars and you can definitely tell it. He shows very little emotion in anything and the acting is very stale. He makes it obvious in his movements that he really did not want to be there and I'm doubting he put any effort into it at all--especially given that he's supposed to be a "great actor." Like I said before, this is really shamful because he constantly complains about his role in Star Wars yet had absolutely ZERO problem with taking the money for a film that he hates so much.Ewan McGregor, on the other hand, put a lot of  effort into his role. He actually studied (Sir Alec Guinness') old role as to stay true to the character. In times of danger, you can see danger on his face, he talked in more than one tone of voice, and his acting skills showed. It was definitely obvious that he was the "seasoned" actor on the set (or at least looked seasoned compared to everyone else).Basically, it was Ewan McGregor who made a lasting impression.

I liked Ewan better. As you mentioned he did show more emotion in his role."Spoiler"I can certainly see this when he fights anakin at the end of the third episode. I mean he is pisssed and hurt to see Anakin go to the dark side and I think Ewan did a good job. While in the old movies when obi wan fights Dark Vader, it was the most boring fight I've seen, the guy shows no emotion whatsoever.

It seems so funny that I just finished this as my research topic and according to the poll that I've performed a lot of people want the new Obi-Wan Kenobi that was played by Ewan McGregor. For now, I am currently working to my newest research topic about the SB 1070. Controversy continues to be happening in The Grand Canyon State for quite some time. Governor Jan Brewer decried SB1070 which Obama has challenged as being unconstitutional. There nevertheless is no answer on the law that lets authorities check immigration status of any person they come into contact with in the state. The Justice Department decided to such Joe Arpaio, Sheriff of Maricopa County. This just heats up the battle between Grand Canyon State and the government. The Justice Department says that Sheriff Joe Arpaio has not cooperated with an investigation of civil rights abuses.
