Superman Returns

Tina is out of town so i'm filling in her shoes (Daniel) for this one.

Where do i begin? I laughed, I cried, I wanted to put on blue tights and jump off a building after I saw this piece of movie excellence. Being a life long superman fan, I went into this movie so nervous. I was ready for the worst. After so many movie remakes and comic book stories turned to garbage, I sat ready to have another childhood memory kicked in the crotch. The lights went dark, dramatic pause, then the original superman score started to play and the Cast names flew by in the same Blue Streak 3D style that they do in the past Superman movies. I nearly pee'd my pants. And when the Superman symbol showed up on the screen, the music singing that tune you know so well.. dun dun duunnnn da da da dun duunnnn, my brain went "YEEEEEESSS!!!!!!"

All you Superman Fans, rest assured, this movie is done right. It is everything and more that I ever expected from a Superman flick. I almost don't even want to share what the plot is about, because I want everyone and their dog to go watch it for themselves. Here's the short version:

Superman (Brandon Routh)(who is such a good superman by the way) has disappeared from earth and the world, including Lois Lane (Kate Bosworth) has been forced to live without him. And wouldn't you know it, Lex Luthor (Kevin Spacey) is up to his old tricks in Superman's absence. That's all you need to know.

I can not stress how great this movie is. The idea of superman being gone for so long and then coming back felt so right. Lex's evil plot is original, and not just another "stop the bomb before it blows" movie. well... not totally like that anyway. there is high danger invloved. And the story between Lois and Superman was also very well done. Not once did i sit in this movie and think, "Man, get on with it already!" It sucks you in takes you on an amazing new Superman adventure. One i think Christopher Reeve would have been proud of.

SO HOW DOES IT END?

Well for me it ended with a cheering theater and me trying not to cry. But like i said before, it gives you everything you've been waiting for in a superman movie and then some. If you leave this movie unhappy, first lean forward a little bit because i want to slap you for being an idiot. Second, i think you should go back and watch Superman IV and really ask yourself, "is this movie better than the new one?" I think Superman NEEDED to disappear for a while after that one.

I give it 5 out of 5

the end

Go Watch It!
